The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) is thrilled to invite Calgarians to participate in an inspiring team-building event that also supports our community—the TIES Climb for New Beginnings. Set against the iconic backdrop of the Calgary Tower, this event on October 5, promises not only a rewarding challenge but also an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of newcomers and Canadians in need.
Newcomers enrich our city with diverse skills and perspectives, but the transition to a new life in Canada can be overwhelming. By climbing the Calgary Tower's 802 steps, you'll raise funds for vital programs that help newcomers with the skills and resources they need to thrive in Canada.
"I believe when newcomers thrive, our entire community benefits," says Sally Zhao, TIES President and CEO. "But I also recognize the significant challenges they face. From learning a new language and finding employment to navigating unfamiliar systems and cultural norms, the journey can be overwhelming. My campaign is built on the belief that with the right support, newcomers can overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential."
You can also join an existing team, join as an individual, or make a donation!
How to Get Involved
It's easy to join the climb! Simply form a team from your organization or network and register through CanadaHelps. Early Bird Registration fee is $25 per person (Tower fees).*
Every step you take (and every dollar you raise) makes a difference. Together, we can create a more inclusive and welcoming Calgary.
We are grateful for the support of our event sponsors: ENMAX, Charlesglen Toyota, CTV (our Media Sponsor), and Monster Mini Golf (In-kind).
