What is Job Readiness for LINC Learners (JRLL)?

Job Readiness for LINC Learners  (JRLL) addresses the language learning needs of CLB 3 & 4 learners who are on the LINC program waitlist for three months or more. Focusing on communication skills in professional settings, the program aims to aid learners in preparing for future LINC classes while prioritizing language support for employment readiness.

Given the emphasis on job readiness, the program addresses language barriers that may hinder learners' ability to effectively engage in job search activities such as resume building, job interviews, and acquiring job-related language skills. "JRLL" is designed to be learner-centered, tailoring language instruction to individual needs, and aims to empower learners with the language competency necessary for successful integration into Canadian society. By offering targeted language instruction in key areas such as Canadian workplace culture, workplace health & safety, resume building, job interviews, and acquiring other job­ specific language skills, the program intends to bridge the language gap and equip CLB 3 & 4 learners with the communication skills essential for confidently pursuing employment opportunities  and navigating the Canadian job market.
